Breathing Remorse is a film festival portraying people who face tragedy and how they deal with their situation. Through five films of Alejandro González Iñárritu, we zero on the most difficult situation that people can confront, and see how guilt can crush people and tear the life apart. However, there is not only sorrow in his movies, but also great strength and a sense of warmth to show how beautiful life is.
Design of Breathing Remorse Designing a film festival is the process that takes the experience of films back to words, material, and still imagery. So the challenge is how to deconstruct five different films and synthesize the essential elements into a comprehensive concept and apply to various deliverables. The torn paper and shred portraits illustrated the destruction in the story and the red band which could be a tape, or a violent strike reveals the dilemma and plight in every story.
The whole project is to celebrate the director, Alejandro González Iñárritu, who wins two Academy of Award for Best Director in 2015 and 2016 for his two films "Birdman" and "Revenant". This is also a project for the class "Integrated Communication." which focuses on bringing the concept of the director into a comprehensive and thrilling film festival experience.
